Chief Legal & Risk Officer

Allison joined 91ÂÛ̳ Engines in April 2024, with over 30 years of experience as the go-to advisor for companies navigating the complexities of legal, compliance, and risk management. As our Chief Legal and Risk Officer, she leads a team of legal, compliance, information and cyber security professionals who play an important role partnering with the business to achieve our business objectives in a fast-moving, yet highly regulated environment while simultaneously appropriately mitigating risk. Allison’s superpowers include untangling the toughest regulatory knots, crafting innovative strategies, and building resilient frameworks for enterprise risk.

Before joining 91ÂÛ̳ Engines, Allison served as a legal compass for the fast-paced world of wealth management startups, including Titan and Personal Capital; and worked closely with Jay Shah as a member of the Executive Team in the successful sale of Personal Capital to Empower. As Chief Legal and Compliance Officer at Personal Capital, she took on multiple roles, wearing hats as General Counsel, CCO, Head of HR, and Director. At Titan, Allison was able to successfully transition the legal & compliance functions from expensive, low performing outsourced/nascent services to a high performing in-house team that provided real-time, holistic support at a material reduction in ongoing costs to the business. Her career journey also includes senior roles at Handle Financial, Extreme Networks, Voxeo Corporation, Crystal Decisions (a Seagate Company), Verifone, and Hewlett Packard. Additionally, she founded and ran a successful legal consulting business, offering outsourced general counsel services to companies for over a decade.

Known for her versatility, unwavering integrity, and quick, creative problem-solving, Allison’s work has not gone unnoticed. She has been named one of The 10 Most Disruptive Women Leaders to Watch in 2023 by The Chief Navigators and a Top 25 Women Leader in Financial Technology of 2021 by The Financial Technology Report. She was also a finalist for General Counsel of the Year 2015 by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and SF Times.

Allison earned a Juris Doctor from University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and a Bachelor of Arts from University of California at Davis.
